Tried a 19 not impressed.

'93 4.3 Alpha one, 17 ft boat. Usually ran a 21 at 4800 wot . Wanted something that pulled a tube easier. Tried a 19 pitch and it wont plane unless I stomp on it. The bow shoots up higher and it takes a long time to plane unless people are up front. The previous 21 took off like a shot. I'm just not getting the performance I expected??

Well I would suspect that the props are different in more ways than pitch.
Your present setup must be running about 53 at 4800?
Is the 19 new,used, rebuilt? What is the diameter and pitch of each prop?
Are they aluminum or stainless?
There are props that have bow lift (good for speed not for hole shot)
Stern lift, good for hole shot not necessarily good for speed.

is the 19 you put on a 3 blade? if so. a 4 blade would have likely given you the performance you wanted.

They were both 3 blade.
