prop chart

Hi, i'm looking to see if i have the right size prop on my motor.The motor is a 1998 evinrude 130hp the prop size i have on it now is14.8x17. is there a chart or a way to find out?

Your correct prop size depends in what size and weight boat it is on.Secondary considerations would be typical; load and activities.
Your wot rpm and gps speed lightly loaded with the present prop will help as well.
Your 17 may be correct but depends on the boat and the present performance.

Take it for a test run.

If it turns between 5000 and 6000 rpm at WOT; with 5500-6000 rpm being ideal, your prop size is OK.

If rpm is too low, you reduce pitch. If rpm is too high, you add pitch, based on 150-200 rpm change per inch of pitch change.

OK! that's what i was looking for. Jestor68, this might be a dumb question,,,,but what does WOT stands for?:noidea:
