Is the thrust washer a wearable part? Do they need replaced at certain intervals?

I'm replacing my prop soon and im wondering if you guys replace the thrust washers at the same time or not.

My thrust washer in good shape, I have removed my prop before for maintenance. I just wasn't sure and I appreciate any suggestions/info.

Re: Thrust washer question

If it's in good shape, why change. Clean well, apply a light grease coat on both sides and put back.

Re: Thrust washer question

Sounds good to me.

I just wasn't sure if the props thrust washer was used more like a spacer washer, or a load axial bearing that wears. The name confused me so I figured I would ask to be safe.

Thanks Sea Rider

Ayuh,.... The thrust washer's taper is torqued pretty heavily, 'n splined in place, against the prop shaft taper,...

I've really never seen 1 "Wear",...

Especially if the prop is pulled, 'n Greased regularly,...
