I have a 1985 Merc 7.5 HP motor that has a prop that has a bad rubber filled hub and it slips on the prop splined shaft. Can these type of props be repaired by replacing the rubber sleeve?

Yes. A prop repair shop can re-hub the prop.

Yep. I just recently had a stainless rehubbed at a local propeller shop for $51.

It takes special tools to replace them. Its not something you can do in your garage.

You almost buy a hub kit at your local boat shop and install a new one yourself. It's not hard to do . And you should always have one extra hub assembly on your boat for just incase it happens aga
Also, they are only about 35.00 at most. Very easy to put in. Just make sure you use pjenty of grease when you assemble the prop back on your boat.
