SUZUKI 25 HP problem

I have a 2009 4 stroke 25 hp suzuki outboard. I have the motor on a 14 ft. john boat and my engine vibrates when i go over 3/4 throttle and over rev's and the engine red light comes on and shuts down my engine to an idle. I went up in prop pitch and it was better but still over rev'd. Would a stainless prop be better and is it truly a prop problem or can it be something with the engine also?

Perhaps you have a short 15" shaft motor on a long shaft 20" transom. Or someone rebuilt the transom and it just plaion the wrong height.
