Simple question regarding a 1967 Mercury 20 horsepower motor:

Took off the prop nut and a lock washer. Prop won't budge. Seems to be seized. Is there a step that I'm missing on this model?

Soak it good with PB Blaster.Carefully put a 2 X 4 against the base of a blade and tap on it.
You may be able to fashion a puller.

thanks. that is exactly what I did. Im not sure if the PB Blaster helped. I made a puller out of a couple hooksthat I was able to get around the back of the struts (or whatever you call them).

The prop was pulled off over the rubber bushing. I had to use a dremel tool to cut the the inner hub off.

So now when you put her back together, use a good waterproof marine lube/grease and grease the spline of the prop shaft. Then the next time you pull it off, for whatever reason, you won't have that problem.
