I am wanting to use my 10hp Martin 100 for a kicker motor on a aluminum 1969 19' Starcraft Starchief cabin cruiser. Does anybody know if the prop that fits the Martin 100 is the same type that is used on a modern brand of outboard? That way I can order a high thrust prop for that brand and use it on my Martin. My Martin 100 is a 1953 aquamatic with clutch.
I am also open to any suggestions on the proper prop (size/pitch) to use for the kicker.
My boat specs are:
120 hp Mercruiser Inboard Alpha 1
Concave Vee
Center Length- 18' 4"
Gunwale Length- 19' 7"
Beam- 85"
Bow Depth- 44"
Center Depth- 38"
Transom Width- 75"
Transom Height- 39"
Approx Weight- 1,600 LBS
Recomended Capacity- 1,700 LBS
There would normally be no more than 4 persons.
Later today I will post on this thread a picture and specs of the prop that is on the Martin now and the gear ratio of the lower unit.

There is a Martin expert out there; can't recall the name.
Go to www.aomci.org and ask around. If anyone knows your options it would be him.You might be able to adapt a prop from a 60 or a 75.That might get you a pitch closer to what you need for your application. If you get yourself a tinytach you could tell better what you may need at least to reach
the proper rpm.

Jason, I will be awaiting the picture and gear ratio, and Spike is right you need to get a Tiny Tach for it to know how many RPM it is turning.

Specs .55" shaft size, .18 shear pin size, 1" deep backside of prop to pin seat, 7 3/4" prop
The lower end ratio is the power head spins 1.5 times for every revolution of the prop.

I already posted the same question on AOMCI. Martins are two cycle alternate firing twins, will a tiny tach work on them?

Yes the tach for your motor will work on any 2 cylinder 2 stroke.
It works off pulses from a plug wire.Be sure you read the info carefully
to be sure of application and wire length. You can't splice it.

J, as soon as you get the RPM and speed let me know and I will tell you what pitch you need.
