I have a 1984 Bayliner Capri, 16 foot, open bow with an 85 hp force outboard. My current prop is bent in one spot and I'm am currently looking for a replacement if I can find one cheap enough. The prop is steel I believe and has the number 524-19 stamped on it. What size and spline should I replace it with. I have read a post stating that a 13 x 19 size is good, but what spline count do I need and I'm a little bit confused about whether it exhausts through the prop or not.

Anyone have any suggestions??

A 1984 85 Hp Force does not exhaust through the prop unless someone replaced the lower unit with a 1990 or newer one.

The prop hub is 15 spline, same as a Mercury. You can use props for small gearcase (4 1/4) mercury engines like a 75 or 80 HP. You can use a closed hub prop or an open hub, through hub exhaust hub prop.

13 X 19 sounds about right but depending upon brand, you may need 13 X 17 pitch. If you read catalogs carefully, Michigan, Hustler, and Vortex all will fit.

Any prop that will fit engines from 79 Chrysler 75-140 up through at least 1992 Force 85-125 will fit your lower unit.
