I have been looking at a Mercury Laser II Stainless Steel Prop 13.25 x 20P on eBay which has the part # 48-16990A45. The Mercury web site says that my mercruy 115hp 4 stroke EFI can use 48-16990A46. The only difference is the part # is the A45 vs the A46. Is there a difference in the props which would keep me from using it?
Thanks

Re: mercury Laser ll prop question

More important than the website recommendations:

What prop are you running now, and what are your WOT numbers?

Re: mercury Laser ll prop question

This is on a 2006 Nitro Fish and Ski, 2006 Mercury 115hp 4 Stroke EFi. I recently got this boat and it had a Vengeance 13.25 x 16 prop which with wot trimmed out was close to 7000rpm. This is with two adults in the boat and little gear. I got to try out a quicksilver aluminum prop 12.75 x 21 which brought it in at 6000rpm with wot. The prop I'm looking at on eBay is a Laser II 13.25 x 20 Stainless prop. The issue I was questioning is the prop part # is the same 48-16990 The mercury web site recommended the same part # except last 3 digits A46 where the prop on eBay last 3 digits were A45.
Thanks

  • Manufacturer: Mercury
  • Horsepower: 115 HP
  • Years: 1978 & Newer
  • Model: 115 HP
  • Maximum RPM Range: 4750-5250 RPM
  • Propeller Pitch: Please Choose A Pitch
Looks like that motor should run @ 5300 WOT The a46 denotes a interchangeable hub...flow touqre...the 46 is a new prop.
