Hello all,

I recently purchased a 1987 260 hp 350 in a 22 ft chris craft scorpion 230. I am running at 4500 WOT which I am pretty sure is right about where I wanna be. I am getting GPS speed consistently of 45 MPH but up to 47. My current prop is an aluminum 3 blade 14.5 x 17 I was interested in a 4 blade as I would rather have more holeshot pull out power and it seems they hold the boat on plane better where mine struggles to at low speeds.

I was curious which prop I should go with size wise. I am also interested in going to a stainless prop. If possible I would like to keep my top speed above 40. eventually I might add trim tabs to further assist with low speed plane. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

4 blade will give you more 'bite' at lower rpms,..but will cost you in top end speed. Its been said that when going from a 3 blade to a 4 blade you should drop down one pitch.
