Hi, I have a 16 1/2 aluminum tiller boat. Loaded, its over 2000lbs. Dealer suggested a 60hp mercury command thrust. So that's what I got. Dealer says they tried 2 different props and the 1 they put on is the best for my application. I'm not so sure! First of all, its a 13p spitfire which they say will only rev to 5500 rpm. I think maybe the tach is off because I did the calculations and top speed with zero slippage is 29mph, which Is actually what I get on gps! I think it must be revving much higher than the tach says? Any thoughts?? BTW, its a 2.33:1 gear ratio, if anyone wishes to double check my math! Either I'm doing something wrong, or the dealer is out to lunch!
