Hey, looking for advice on my next prop. Been reading a lot of threads and looks like I'm ready to ask for advice.
I run a 1990 Javelin fish and ski boat, 396FS, 19.5 foot long. Heavy boat. Running the lightest load I can for my use. I fish with it and will ski in the summer.
Prop #1 Aluminum 3 blade 14.5x19p 42.6 MPH on gps @5400 RPM
Prop #2 SS 4 blade Shooter 13.5x23p 46.2 MPH @5000 RPM
I can tell the SS prop is bad for me. Need to get more RPM
Am thinking about getting a SS 3 blade prop. What size should I get?
Also thinking a jack plate might be fun. 6 inch hydraulic. Will I want to re size my prop after the JP?
What RPM should I want to be able to get to? Thanks a lot!!!
EDIT Also should I get a new tach? What brand?
