1987 force 125 prop

i have a bayliner 17'10" trophy bass with a force 125 outboard...i need a prop how would i tell if i need one with the exhaust though it or not. this is my first real boat and i dont want to mess it up. the prop that is on it is one with the holes for the exhaust but i was told i dont need that i just want to double check before i buy a new one..thanks

If you have a 87 lower unit you can use either style.

An 87 should have the water intakes on the round bullet part of lower unit in line with prop shaft. This indicates that no exhaust comes out the prop. Michigan makes direct fit aluminum props. Other brands are a gamble if the will fit.

here is how you can tell what type lower unit - single exhaust can use either style prop - Dual exhaust need the thru hub (open) props

thank you....apparently i have a single exhaust. so either prop will work
