alpha and bravo differences

i have a alpha 1 on a 95 5.7 and was looking at new mirage plus props and found a used one for a bravo and looked up numbers on it says it will fit mine but thought bravo and alphas where different so do i need something special to try it with

Ayuh,.... The Bravo I, All of the Alpha series, 'n Merc Large gear case outboards can run the same props,....

Just a thought...I've got a Mirage Plus on my Bravo 1 (the Plus replaced the standard Mirage you mention) for my 5.7 MPI which has a bit more oomph than the carbed and pre vortec 5.7 you would have if it is original on your 95. The Mirage is really meant for big block engines and even with a 17 inch in on my 4000 lb dry weight boat I can only hit 5000 rpms. (a less aggressive SS 17 should easily overrev the engine) Point is the Mirage may not be the prop for you application as it is extremely aggressive.

thank you its on a alpha one and its a 2130 chaparral i think its going to be to big its a 23 but fig had to try it i got it for 150$ and looks new

i have a 21 on it now it does great at about 4800 4900 but its a no name brand on it so been looking for 21 good name brand but found this 23 for 150 like new so fig try it and if not always get my money back just he said it was for a bravo but looked up numbers on it says both are same for alplah and bravo just thought they were different

With you turning 4800 to 4900 rpm currently with a 21, your where you need to be. If you change to a 23 your rpm will go down to around 4400 to 4500 and your hole shot will suffer
