Picked up a 1988 Imperial 200, Volvo Penta AQ 151, 290 out drive. No prop on it but two props in the boat. One is a Michigan 14 x 17 short hub,(black) the other is a 14 x 19,6R. long hub, (white). What was the original prop size for this boat?

Short hub for AQ151 according to the Volvo Penta Prop Guide from 2005-2006. Long hubs are for higher horsepower engines according to Volvo prop guide.

Here is a link to a post here with the Volvo Prop Guide attached. Look up Single Props for 290 drives, there are 2 sections, Long hub and Short hub. The AQ151 is only listed in the Short Hub section.

That guide also says, in the long hub section, that the long hubs are also suitable for 4 cylinder petrol engines. But standard they would have been shipped with short hub. Probably :)

Maclin, after a closer look the white prop is a short hub. I thought it was a long hub because it has a flange that extends out over the cone nut (the blades go out to the end of the flange). I assume this is the original prop. I am going to have both rebuilt and test them out. Thanks.
