I just bought a 15 Klamath 2004 with a Mercury Bigfoot 4 stroke 25 HP. The prop is ruined need a new one, what prop do I need? Pitch?
Theres a sticker on the motor that says

12 x 29
2.42 : 1

I was told the prop on there was not original but a prop to make it go faster??

Sorry own 2 boats but never had to deal with a prop.

Thanks, Mike

Prop numbers usually appear near the base of the blades or under there prop nut.
Get us the numbers and we may be able to tell if the prop is a reasonable size.

Not sure of dry weight, but is it bare bones but plan on carrying 7 crab pots and 2 adults.

Also I removed the prop, noticed grease, should I clean all the grease and regrease? If so what type of grease?

Grease is to keep the prop from seizing to the shaft.Probably clean and regrease annually.especially in salt.
Any reasonable grease. Like that of an automotive chassis grease.Someone may be along with a specific suggestion.
