Rotted Wood on corner of front platform

I have a pontoon and on the front platform, the corner guard came off this weekend and the area it covered has a little rot of wood. If I put a new guard or corner bumper on it, should that work? Or should I look at replacing the whole platform? The rest of the platform isn't rotted at all.

If there are no soft spots in the floor as you walk around on it, I'd say what you have is still serviceable. That's not to say I wouldn't start tracking down sources for a rebuild though. If the corner is gone, the rest can't be too far behind it.....

Meanwhile, go ahead with your repair.
