Getting a pontoon in the next few days that doesn't have a trolling motor on it. On my 18'Tracker Grizzley I run a 55lb thrust Minn Kota Power Drive V2 with CoPilot 48" shaft. For you guys that have Pontoons what is the best advice you can give me for a trolling motor. I want to keep the Minn Kota Power Drive and may sell my 18'Tracker Grizzly.

How good do the quick connect mounts work? Should I go aluminum or the composite mount? Or should I save a few $$$ and buy a pontoon mount powerdrive?

Re: Pontoon trolling motor mount????

I have a 55lb Motorguide with a quick connect that is aluminum, pretty much all the same, and it only takes 30 seconds to install or take off.

Your current troller should work fine, the only difference btween that and "pontoon" troller is the shaft is a couple inches longer, if you are just buying the mount I woudl go aluminum, it will never wear out.
