Does anyone have the Tracker Regency with 115 hp motor? I am interested in the top speed of this set-up.

The dealers can't give me a specific number.

25 mph is probably a good guess, depending on how many people are on board and extra weight and water conditions. Possibly a bit faster.

If you have the performance toons with lifting strakes you should be able to do over 30mph. I haven't checked mine with gps, but the dealer said they took it for a test and hit 35 with low fuel and light load. Will try it later this summer myself. I know when it gets up on the strakes you can feel it pick up speed.:) Just curious, what prop do you have? Mine is a 13.75 / 15 and it hits 6600 at wot.

6600 RPM on a 4 stroke!!! I think that's a little high. I would guess 5500 should be WOT. Do you know what your motor is rated at?

I would think he could get more then 25mph.. I have a 21 foot Triton with a 90 hp.. With me and the wife, I get 27-28 mph on the gps..

Specs say WOT is 5800-6400 for a 4 stroke 115HP

To the OP, your speed seems slow. For comparison, my dads 21 ft SunTracker FishinBarge does just under 20MPH with a couple people on it and a 2 stroke 50HP

waterlogged,

at present i have a 22 Sweetwater with 60 Yamaha.
There was a Regency next to mee for a few weeks at our dock but he had the 60 on his.

I may be interested in one next year, however I want something that i can cruise with at 24/25 mph. If 35 is tops then that would be great.
I will pm you

Yeh the WOT max is 6400. I would like to get it closer to 6200. I would need 16 or 17 pitch to do that, but I haven't seen one in a 13.75 Dia.prop.

Waterlogged,

I emailed 3 dealers and they really didn't know how fast this boat should run. They guessed 22/26 mph, heck I get 21.2 on gps on my 22Sweetwater with 60 Yamaha, I would surely think with double the hp that I would gain more than 3 or 4 mph.

How can you sell a boat and not know what it will do on the water?

Lots and lots of variables. Wind, water conditions, load, load distribution, condition of the logs and certainly other items I can't think of.

For example, we were out yesterday and I had to push the throttle up a touch after I turned into the wind in the NW zone.

I'm still breaking in our 90HP Merc 4 stroke, WOT is between 5K and 6K. On the GPS we were doing 23 into a brisk wind, bimini open, 690 pounds of passengers + gear, + 3/4 tank of gas, about 30 gallons. DW and her buddy were on the front couches, I had it opened up only to 5.4K rpm, probably had a little more in it.

I'm assuming yours is w/o lifting strakes? My 22 Regency has the strakes and a 135 HP Optimax and I get 30-40MPH range depending on the load.
