Sealant For Trolling Motor Mount on Pontoon

I just installed the MotorGuide pontoon mount on the deck of my pontoon boat. Is is necessary/recommended to put some kinds of sealant around the nuts/bolts/washers? Particularly on the underside of the deck (wooden)?


I just don't want the deck to start rotting.

If it is the original marine grade ply then no, we don't do that at the factory,.
The wood is treated clear thru so drilling it won't make it rot.

Thanks! I have got it installed and it works great. Glad to not have to worry about a rotting deck.
