I just picked up the last Structure Scan from BPS and Im going to install it on my Pontoon, but where?!?

Currently Im using the left toon bracket for my HDS units transducer and now I need to find a location for the new structure scan transducer?

Tracker, BPS, Lowrace all have no good answer. Ive talked to many folks there several times and they have no good answer.

Any suggestions?

Above is the picture I sent my buddy when I needed a new pump for my live well.

I have a side scan fish finder on my 'toon. I have sheetmetal pieces which are held in place top and bottom on the extended bracket by self tapping screws. This is the one on the starboard side which would have that side scanner transducer on the outboard side.

Here on the port side, you can see the bracket that was made for this side.

LT I have a HDS 10 w/ S.S. on a 87 tracker. I mounted my ducers side by side on the STBD log and have had no issues with the use or mounting of the unit. Installed in NOV and use every weekend. Unit works best below 10 mph.

Finally installed my SS. I had a mount fabricated so I can space both transducers so they were not touching.

Great stuff, except..

When I run my SONAR I noticed the DownScan screen is covered in small vertical lines. When I STOP the SONAR, the Little lines disappear.

Both transducers are about 4 inches apart per Lowrance's recommendation.

All of my settings are defaults, so perhaps I need to modify something? What do you guys think?

LT I also get those little lines, but the slower I go the less there are. I think I am picking up the little bubbles made by the prop. S/S does look to the side right where my outboard sits. I just go slow and overlook it.

Pontoons by their nature create very turbulent water at the back of the tubes and from the motor pod so there are abundant air bubbles to deal with. Not much you can do about it except to play around with mountings looking for an optimum.

Thanks Guys,

But that does not explain why the vertical lines dissapear I STOP the SONAR.
