I got a scratch on my toon and was wondering if there is anything I can do to make the scratch not so noticeable.

The scratch isn't deep, and I filed the harp edges off.

Thanks!

Re: Scratch on Pontoon

don't look at it and i doubt anyone else will either.

LOL!!!!!! I totally agree. The only boat without blimishes are new ones and ones that don't get used. And a really close examination of new ones will usually reveal imperfections.

I have a boat that I bought 9 months ago and it has a little over 100 hours.
There are several scratchs and small dents that were not on there when I bought it.

But I try not to look at them and I'm certainly not going to point them out to my guests.

I am the repair guy for a major pontoon maker and no there isn't anything you can do with that.

It would actually look worse if you did fix it.

Just like body work you start with a rough paper and go to smaller grit, finish with a scotch brite pad but the repair is normally way bigger than the scratch and it ages differently than the metal around it so in a year it will REALLY stick out where your scratch, left alone, won't be noticable.

After a few cruises in a dirty river or lake, you'll never see that scratch.;)

I'm wondering if you decided to do anything with yours. Like you my toons are shiny and its easily seen. I plan to file the edges down, but aside from that, not sure what else can be done. If I continue to apply shark hide to my toons they will be just as shiny.

Hide that scratch with a couple thousand acre feet of H2O.
