Looking for some ideas on taking my existing cover and making an opening so I can leave my rods in their holders. Don't have a picture of it but it's something like the one below. The pic on the right is one of my boat, want to keep the rods in the holder but be able to attach the cover all the way around. Thanks

The less openings the better off you are. You also don't want the sun on your fishing rods every single day if you don't have to.

As a Rod Smith and competitive angler my first question is why?

The absolute worst thing for a fishing rod is to expose them to sun, moisture and impact damage anymore than necessary.

Not to mention the damaging effects of UV on fishing line.

In addition to the damage to your fishing gear from sunlight, getting such a cover on and off, the question will be when, not if, you will snap off a rod or three in the process.
