Hello, Im new here. We have a Forester 2500 Executive that we're basically doing a "toon off restoration." I can't find any info on the boat, not even a picture of one! Does anyone here have one? Or do I have the only one in existance?

Well NADA shows they were made from 74 to 94. So now I'm more unsure.

if your doing a floor up restro sit and think how you really want it then a bit of ordering and elbow grease and you have a custom built toon, thats what i did 7 years ago

In that process right now. No rules say anything about it having to look anything like it used to. Doubling original horse power (4 stroke of course!) with additional structural reinforcements under the floor, new deck w/vinyl floor covering, new permanent mount folding ladder in right rear corner (w/nice WIDE steps!), relocating rails 24" forward for extra room around ladder and updated look, all new seats and console for a custom floor plan designed for the way WE use the boat, etc, etc, etc......

A LOT of thought going into this one. All in it will still be less than a lot of 10 year old boats might sell for - and this one will be brand new for all practical purposes!

Me too. I also bought an old pontoon boat and rebuilt it the way I wanted. About the only things I kept were the logs, the deck and the layout of the fences. ... Maybe restoring things to their original appearance is something special to you, but I doubt that anyone else will care whether your boat looks like an original 1994 Forester.

Here's the progress so far... Got the old deck torn off. Seam tape laid down with the new deck fastened. Glued the vinyl down last night and also masked off the stripe on the fence panels to be painted. My dad buffed out the helm, bar, and front nose pieces. They turned out looking almost brand new!

Next we need to paint and install the fence with risers, assemble the new seats and dry fit them onto the toon. Mount the bar and helm. And also figure out the control cables. I bought new cables from iboat but they did not come with ends. I purchased used ends off of ebay thinking the motor end and the control end were the same. That's not the case.

What size motor do you have on there?

The boat is looking good. And it looks like you have plenty of help.

Thanks! It was a Force 50hp. That burned cyl #2 down. I found a used 70hp Evinrude and have been using that for a few years.

Thanks! I actually ordered the seats from pontoonstuff.com. The console is re used from my old setup. Just buffed it and wrapped the gauge panel. I did order some stuff through iboats though.
