Have you considered installing a hatch on each side to monitor water, and possibly service a bilge pump placed under each?

there is a bilge in each toon in the rear. Hatch for sure. I need something between the glass and wood. There is currently something black and sticky between there now....

So the black sticky stuff will be remove prior to the new attempt, or must the new "stuff" be compatible with what's there now?

Lexel caulk. Interesting...have never seen a pontoon boat with fiberglass pontoons.

It is a rather interesting design, At the point it's at, I'd continue removing the decking, and get rid of all the sticky goo that is on there now. And replace all he wood.

Maybe try to come up with a design that's more about gasket, less about sealant? I don't know what you would use, but if you could come up with something soft and pliable, it might last longer than a sealant, and be WAY less hassle to replace.

You should be able to find it locally at a RV supply or mobile home supply. Possibly at Lowes or HD.
