I was just told by my relative that a pinfish flopping around in my boat would puncture it?

Is this true? Told me to forget about fishing from it...hooks fish spines and such...

A fish spine will pucture about anything that's flexible. No matter if its Hypalon, Polyurethane or PVC made specially if a big fish is jumping wildly hooked. Can protect tubes placing a thick cover over them....If you fish with a fish net, put fish in net prior pulling fish in and straight to cooler it goes.

well sounds like I'm fooked...

I have two boys and we are fishing for spot croaker flounder and what ever will bite and a large % of the time it is pinfish...

I just hope I don't loose my motor making it to shore.

Ha! The main reason i bought my boat was to fish from it. i have spent days on the water with pinholes in it. The only way i found out was a little sizzle when water got on it otherwise i would not even know (meaning it loses very little air that good chance you will not lose enough air to notice). Buy a bottle of hh-66 its 15 bux and put a drop of glue over the hole and you will never have to worry about it again. You can clearly slice a tube open with a nice and you will not sink because the other tubes will keep you up. Almost every sib comes with 3-4 separate inflating valves. If you are still concerned after my videos then you can buy tube covers and put them on while you fish

Thanks man but anyway...yea that was awesome!

Have you ever accidentally caught a pinfish?

and have it flop around in your boat? hell most of the ones I'm worried about will fit thru the hole in the net..

I am already figuring to use circle hooks and use a net and a big ole 30 gal plastic container to put the fish in.

BUT my a fish with spines is gonna hit the outside and inside of my boat if we fishing....

so what do you think? worst case a pin hole and can limp back 2 miles or less on any tube failure?

With a defleated tube can go back to Terra Firme anytime at just slow non planing speed, just sit and move weight to opposite tube, you should always carry a foot or hand pump with you for unexpected emergencies. If fish gets very nervous while hooked while being pulled out of water, you can always shoot the guy dead, LOL.

we catch scup fish aka porgies, super sharp fins. fish have flopped in my boat with no problem but i don't like when they do because they can cause holes. We do not use nets for these small fish because they are to small, we just flip them over then unhook and right into a 5 gallon bucket picked up at HD for like 3 bucks. we like using circle hooks but most of the time we use regular small hooks or big ones. Only hook we fear is the treble hook we use for striped bass. You can get back a lot faster then 2mph with a pin hole(depending on the hole size). most of my videos, i have a hole in my boat that i am to lazy to patch. If your still on here during summer ill show you how my tubes sizzles. Sea Rider is 100% correct in saying carry a hand pump (you can see in my videos i have a hand pump in the front) BOTTOM LINE: if you have a hard floor boat like mine, pin holes will be the least of your concern. An air floor boat is a faster assemble and disassemble but man it is hard getting it to ideal pressure. And if you lose air in the floor or don't inflate it all the way your boat will not plane and you will have a terrible experience. Everything we tell you is from experience. If you trailer your boat you can add a lot more stuff. If you plan to take apart every trip you will need lots of room just for the minimum equipment. i will start a thread of a check list "whats on your boat check list
