Using Davits with the engine on the dinghy

I am thinking of getting the weaver Davits to use for my Dinghy. I have a 10 foot Zodiac which is about 95 pounds and a 9.9 Mercury which weighs around 70 pounds. The Davits are rated for 200 pounds so there is no mximum weigt issue when it comes to the davits but I was wonderng if anyone has experience with leaving the engine on the dinghy not using a swivel mount and pulling the whole thing onto the davits. Is it a safe setup to have the engine hanging sideways?
