Last weekend, I took my son fishing in Puget Sound, WA. We had channel 16 on all the time. In about 4 hours we listened to 1 boat taking water very close to us and 2 boats on fire near San Juan islands. It was crazy. Everett PD marine unit asked the captain of the boat that is taking water to signal since we all had very hard time identifying the boat among so many vessels on the water that day fishing. The captain had no flares or flares gun on the boat.
We all think it will never happen to us until it actually does. I went through all my safety gear on the boat and made sure I have everything I need accessible. I hope you all will do the same as well. Stay safe out there
