1950's 15hp einrude superfast twin running strangely please help!!!!!

So i got a 1950's around 1955 im assuming evinrude superfast twin motor that runs great at an idle and very little throttle in gear however when i go to give it gas to go it starts sputtering and cutting out and i am at a loss for ideas i was thinking spak plugs but then how is it idling so well.. i need help please i can try to post a video to youtube and share the link..

Could be ignition, check things like points and condensors, also spark plugs. But it could also be a fuel problem.

And yes, spark plugs could cause it as the load on an engine at idle (and hence the performance requirements of spark plugs) is very low. When you throttle up the demand on them is more. Seen it plenty of times.

But that's where I'd start, spark plugs, points, condensors, then fuel.

That carb has a high and low speed adjustment also.

I believe it is running on one cylinder.------Was at a shop once and the shop owner asked me to diagnose a 10 hp Evinrude.-----I said it is running on one cylinder and he would not believe me at first.------He is no longer in the outboard repair business as he failed miserably.
