Looking for a big Boat Show

I'm looking for a major boat show to go to with an old friend that I only see once a year or so. We both love power boating and would enjoy spending a couple of days together hanging around a really good boat show. I'm in CA and he's in TX but we're willing to travel. Maybe 20 yrs ago we went to the Miami Boat Show and it was considered the biggest in the country. We could do Miami again but would consider other places too. Great Lakes? East coast? Southern CA? Any recommendations?

you just missed the For Lauderdale International Boat Show this past weekend. In my experience, much better show than Miami could ever strive to be. the next show coming up is METS (Marine Equipment Trade Show) in Amsterdam.

Miami is this spring.

However there are regional boat shows everywhere (just a bit smaller). google boat show in your area.

Not too sure when you'd like to connect with your old friend date wise.....but if either of you are into High-Performance type boating then Lake Havasu's boat show has really grown in size the last few years to where it's starting to be considered as large as the Los Angeles boat show that happens normally in February. Thanks guys for the responses. The Lake Havasu show sounds great. Between the 2 of us, we've owned a Cigarette, Formula, and a couple of Donzi's so that's right up our alley. The worse part would be watching all the fun from the beach rather than from a boat. We'll definitely look into that more but would like to go somewhere sooner than April. Miami is still a great option.

I went to the first day of the Minneapolis Boat Show last night. It goes on today, tomorrow and Sunday. I'm guessing it's too late if you were to book tickets and fly up here, but not out of the question! Hope you found something awesome to attend! Boat shows are lots of fun. I took my four year old daughter last night and she had a blast! Of course our experience was laced with good food and yummy treats, but she also enjoyed the boats. She learned really quickly that if she kicked off her shoes, walked and remained calm and respectful that no boat was off limits! I could hardly keep up with her, and even lost her at one point in a 35 foot cabin when she decided to play hide and seek without telling me! Great times,,, great times...
