I will be visiting Louisville, KY in mid July. I will be taking my boat. Does anyone know a good place to launch and slip a boat for a couple of days? We might be spending one or more nights on the boat and would like a place with some facilities (showers, toilets) and overnight parking for tows and trailers.

Thanks.

Sorry to say, Louisville is lacking in this area. There is River Park Marina near downtown. It's new and has showers, but no ramp. The transient slip rates for a trailer boater are just simply stupid expensive- $50 week nights and $99 weekends. I've boated almost the ENTIRE Ohio River and I've never seen rates like that. You might call and negotiate. They say reservations recommended, but I've never seen the marina anywhere near full. http://www.riverparkplace.net/riverpark-marina/

Not sure if you are looking be close to downtown, but there is also a marina up the river about 3 miles. Haven't been there myself, but it is a pretty area and looks like they have more reasonable rates.

Also, between this marina and downtown, there is a free boat ramp with a ton of parking. Don't think there are slips there, but just thought I'd throw that out there as well.
