The pic from the boat was late in October of 2011 and the old pic was posted after that by a TBar frequent flier. No old stuff to see, just water from the Grand Canyon from the days before.

Which coves are best? I would need access by vehicle as well.. preferably launch jetskis .. Thanks!!!

I cannot answer your question ph0, Things have changed fast at the lake, so make sure you get very recent accounts of a location before you head out.

I always launch at a marina and don't have any "reliable" information on shore launching, but I saw a guy in a big truck hauling a 20+' jet boat out of Boxcar cove last weekend, looked like he was shore launching. Kingman Wash just across the dam on the AZ side would be another option. I haven't been to either of these in years, so.....

Who all has been out to the lake lately? I've been out of Echo 3 times, going out again this weekend.

As much as I hate the subject matter, this is a good article.

That article is missing 1 very important point (just like every article I've read about Mead dropping this year), the lake is "artificially" low due to the artificial flood they created down in Mexico. If the powers that be didn't think it was a fantastic idea to pizz away our water in a drought, Lake Mead would be holding it's own. I've been up to Page a couple times this year and every time the radio says that Lake Powell is 6' higher than last year......

The big question is, how much water did they dump into the Colorado River Delta and how would Mead be looking if they didn't squander that water. (Clue, from January to June of this year Mead lost 26' of elevation when it should have been gaining elevation with spring run-off.)

Here's another one FD. Powell should share a bit also.

Looks like the recent storms caused some road damage out at LMNRA....

Kingman Wash Access Road, a dirt road in Arizona that leads to Lake Mead, is washed out.

Temple Bar Access Road, a main road in Arizona that leads to Temple Bar Marina on Lake Mead, is impassible because flood waters are flowing across the road at Detrital Wash.

Nevada State Route 165, which leads to Nelson Landing and Placer Cove, inside the park, is closed because of flooding and road degradation.

Willow Beach Access Road, the main road in Arizona that leads to Willow Beach Marina on Lake Mohave, was closed because of debris. It was reopened Monday morning.

That is a good article! (Much better than the fluff covered in the major media.)

Hi everyone..Hope all is well. Haven't been out to the lake for a few weeks now. Last outing it was real close on getting out of Boulder Harbor due to falling lake levels..I should be going out in about 10 days looking for stripers..Plan on leaving my boat in a guest slip at Hemminway for $20 per night as I will not have a tow vehicle. Figure thats not bad if I stay out of casinos..(yeah right)…Anyway if anyone has any new info about the lower basin let me know…Jim.

Not sure about Lake Mead as it's been awhile. My wife came up with a sudden idea to invite the inlaws from Nebraska to join us on Lake Powell next month. So, in the next 5 weeks I need to reseal the leaking rear axle on my truck and take the driveshaft to the shop to find the vibration.

I started the boat today and half of the guages are working. I have some work to do, but this is a trip we must do. 5-1/2 hour tow to the lake.
