I'd like to place a 75# AGM battery up in the bow. Do the stringers go all the way up? The floor was done shortly before I bought the boat and is solid. I would also place 1/2" ply underneath to spread the load. Any help is appreciated.

75 lbs is a non issue... think about it.. if I ride in the front of your boat that's over 3 times the weight and all would be just fine

I just felt that the weight on the floor could eventually push out the sides of the boat being so close to the point of the bow. Sides seem pretty thin compared to a lot of boats. Rather be safe than sorry. Thanks for the replies.

I'm with Smoke--It is a non issue.

If the Manatee is a deep vee, the center stringer does go all the way to the bow. The two side stringers are shorter. However, even if by some remote chance the floor does flex, it is going to want to bend down and that would tend to pull the sides in. Not likely to happen since the stringer is there and you intend to add a second layer of ply.
