we have a legend v-149 widebody boat with low very steep angled transom, with a 2 stroke 30hp mercury long shaft motor on it we find that there ia a lot of water spray off the motor that is splashing over into the boat. does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

20" transom? 25" motor?
If so you need a jack plate.

Look for a "mini jacker" 'bout $100 or so

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Put the Right motor on it,..... I'm guessin' yer's is 5 or 10" too Deep,.....

A jack-plate raises the CG of the hull,.....

Essentially "yes," but more to raise the screw/propeller up. The anti-ventilation plate on the outboard should be just below the keel/hull of the boat ... maybe an inch or so ... to operate properly.

Maybe add a jack plate and install it as high as possible. Sounds like a 20" on a 15" transom.

Post up some pics of your set up and include a shot of the motor all the way tucked down. Do you have a transducer on the transom?
