I just picked up this boat 2 weeks ago. I've been trying to figure out its weight and HP capacities, but whomever painted it camo removed the plaque. The license says that's it's a 1978 Starcraft F8 16', but Google has proven fruitless on that front. The boat has a beam of 5'6", and according to NADA the only 16' alum boat with that beam in '78 was the Mariner, but Google images of that boat look nothing like mine. The HIN on the license is STRD167111177, but every decoder I've tried comes back with an error saying that the HIN is too long. I'm at my wits end. Can anybody here help me?

The HIN is too long by 1 character. STR does signify Starcraft and the 77 is for a 1977. The center part has 1 too many for a valid HIN.

Wish I could help more.
