I'm not a boat person yet. I got this for $700. The 9.9hp Mariner starts first pull every time. I haven't got it in the water yet but so far so good.
Sorry, the photos are big.

What's left of it's make? http://lotsoffun.org/boat-letters.jpg
The motor is like new inside http://lotsoffun.org/motor.jpg

Any ideas what the boat is? My title and registration all say Unknown. Maybe it's a one of a kind made by Howard Hughes? :)

Well the logo says Mitchell...

Judging by the water line inside the boat I'd say it doesn't leak and the trailer is pretty sturdy.

You got Michell out of that. You're good! I kept trying for Mohawk and MirroCraft. Michell was made near me so I think it's a good call. I wish I could find a photo of another boat with the big "M's" in the corner. They were made from '59 - '62 so maybe my first boat was made the year I was born. I don't see a water line. It looks like someone hacked a floor into it at one time. It has a light red line going around the inside at seat level. I wish people would stop putting funky seats and floors in perfectly good boats. When I was shopping on Craigslist I'd see "14' V Hull Cheap" and then it would have seating for 2 on funky seats, and a floor, and multi big lights for bow fishing. Yuck! Me and my 4'10 asian wife and 7 & 8 year olds will be up at Lac Labelle Michigan in this pulling out lots of monster pike in July with any luck. Hopefully Steelhead here in Lansing soon. Thank you for the good info Sir!

My monitor is a 47" lcd so that may be a bit of an advantage :D.... the shadow of the broken letters is visible....

water line .... reddish brown stain from bottom of seats down... looks like it was full of water for a long time

That french curve mark on the inside looks like it had been on it's side off the trailer for one or more seasons and water was allowed to accumulate. Was probably a nice home base for mosquitoes if that happened. Probably no harm done but that plus the other water line indicates a lack of enthusiasm for boat care from previous owners, so look at everything about this boat and mitigate any cumulative damage.

Either way, you got yourself a great puddle jumper there. I fished out of one with my buddy for years with a 7.5 evinrude. Great starter boat.
