Early-70's Holiday. She is very photogenic!
hoto:
The paint looks to be in excellent shape for it's age...I bet a buff and some touch-ups are all she needs.
but don't be fooled.
Examine that splashwell for cracks.
Crawl under the splashwell and inspect the kneebrace for cracks.
when under the splashwell, there will be an opening in the deck; you can reach under and feel the condition of the foam board...if it's wet/soggy, you'll be pulling-up the deck & replacing.
Walk around the inside feeling for soft-spots and listen for crackling...dryrotted plywood.
From the outside, check where the rib-ends would be for distortion in the hull-skin...bent rivet heads are a dead give-away for flex and high-probability of hull cracking. Also check the spray-rail for damage and/or cracking.
kneebrace tab cracks (cause: weak transom)
splashwell cracks (cause: weak transom)
spray-rail damage (causes: bad trailer setup...they also crack from no support from deck & side-board)
Rib-end cracks (causes: lack of support at outer-chine...designers relied on the structural integrity of deck wood & pop-rivets)
