Boat buying help - first timer...

Hey Everyone,

Looking at purchasing my first boat. Really excited, but have a few questions. As a boat buyer, what should I be looking for in terms of boat condition? Any red flags or things to avoid? What kind of information/photo's/video's should I be looking for from a seller? What do you want to see on a boat listing to give you confidence in a boat or a seller?

The type of boat, size, price range, intended use(s), and your location, bear heavily on what you need to check before purchase.

The answers you are seeking will be very different if you are looking for a 16' aluminum fishing boat, a 20' bow rider, or a 40' big water boat.

Please give a bit more info.
