Oarlock Questions

While cleaning up my father-in-law's shop, I found four pairs of oarlocks.

1. Are oarlocks typically brass or bronze? Any way to tell the difference?
2. Can the darker ones in the picture be shined up like the bright one? if so, what is the best way to do that?
3. Any idea of their value and where to sell them?

Thanks.

Can't see the picture but likely they are bronze. Holds up better than brass, especially in salt water. You can polish them, but if they are antique, they are worth more as is. Ebay would be my suggestion if you want to sell them.

Marine hardware would be bronze. Worth 10-75 a pair, depending on style and age. We need a pic.
