I've come across an 85 18ft boston whaler outrage I would like to purchase. it seems to be in good shape but I was wondering if there is anything negative about this particular model. it has an aluminum gas tank and there are spider web cracks on the fiberglass rail areas that are flat. probably sun damage. any thoughts would be appreciated

Great boats....... just do the normal checking out and you should be fine.

I personally would have that boat weighed before purchase, BWs can become waterlogged and are impossible to dry out and nearly impossible to fix after that happens. I know this because my Dad had one that was that way.

Weigh it and compare the weight to the specs for that year and model, or you could have a marine survey done... but that'll cost you a few hundred dollars.
