After working on restoring my old 1989 Regal Medallion 185 for the last 2+ months, I'm basically ready for some sea trials. She seems to run pretty darn good on the trailer, and interior has been refinished. Other than wet sanding and polishing the gel coat to bring back the shine (to which half the boat is done), I just can't think of anything else.

I have my boater certification course completed.

All necessary USCG safety gear is on board. Including a set of oars in the ski tunnel.

All navigational lights are working.

About the only thing I think I'd like to get is a Marine radio for when I go on the Puget Sound. I think a small walkie-Talkie type should be good enough.

Wish me luck!!!

Excellent - good luck with the splash, but remember.....without pics it didn't happen.

I finally got my boat running and she's a 1986 GlassMaster with a 50 hp Evinrude. This was some time in the making but she runs great and I had it on the waters already but don't know how far I should push it. How deep of water I can go is the biggest question I have so far. I'll try and post the video

Just sold my 89 regal medallion. She was an excellent boat, very sturdy, not a soft spot to be found. Mine had the 3.0 liter mercruiser and we enjoyed 4 years of fun on the boat. Best of luck with yours.

I thought I would give you an update on the finished product. It has all the work I have on done to the boat including some finished pics, and a little tubing action. Took most of the summer of hard work, but finally got it in the water on Labor day, and ready for next year of boating. I had to buy a cubic ton of safety gear, ropes, fenders, life jackets, flares, etc. It's amazing how the Coast Guard wants you to be ready for anything outside of Armageddon. All I need now, is to find a decent hand held Marine radio. I'll probably just pick up a Cobra off Amazon.

After 2 hours on the water, I got home and pulled the drain plug. All that was in the bilge, was a little water from condensation overnight.

NO LEAKS!! I couldn't be more satisfied right now.
