So my boat is an '87 Marlin Aries with a Black Max 200hp 2 stroke outboard. After playing with a few different props, I got it hitting 55mph on GPS and really loving it. But my lady wasn't, so we talked about adding a windshield. Since my boat didn't come with one, that left a lot of options. The issue was the size and shape of my boat and the fact that is wasn't designed to have a full walk through windshield.
So after taking a lot of measurements and looking at different boats, I started my search. After about 2 months, I finally found one not to far away for $75 on craigs list. With a little engineering, I was able to make it fit. I used 1/4" stainless carriage bolts that I modified to fit in the Taylormade channel on the underside of the windshield. The wood mounts in the picture are temp just to make sure I have the angles correct. After finally getting it mounted up, I tested it Saturday and it works awesome.
I still need to do some fiberglass finish work with the final mounts to tie it into the boat. But it looks pretty damn good and it works.
