Sorry for the dumb question. I am looking at a 2004 Chaparral Sunesta 236 boat & a quick specs search shows that it is 24.67 feet long. The boat has a factory swim deck so I was wondering does this length include the swim deck? I can't find anything clarifying if it includes the deck or not? Thanks

Unless it is actually part of the hull it would normally not be part of the length measurement.

If the Swim Deck is part of the mold of the hull, it will count.
If it is an add-on, optional platform your 236 will still count as 24.67 with or without the platform.

Technically, adding a bolt-on Swim Platform does not make your boat longer for Tax or legal length purposes.
A Marina or a Lock will count the extra length for billing purposes.
The same reasoning applies to adding an Anchor Pulpit to the bow.

This is a grey area at times, so differing opinions can be expected.

some companies used the added length of a factory pulpit or swim-platform to "make their boats larger"even if they were bolt-on only.... This leads to the mentioned grey area.

Harbor Freight- 25' Tape. $1.99 or free with coupon. Problem solved.
#2 - google the year and make and read the catalog.
#3 - why would it make any difference unless you needed to fit it in an existing garage?
