i have a 2007 gt 205 glastron boat that has the dash all cracked and needs to be replaced. the glastron dealer says i cant get a replacement any suggestions?
What is it made of? Is it plastic? I would think that you could use some sort of filler in the cracks and then use a plasticote-type paint for plastic and repaint it.
There are companies out there which will make you one (CNC) exactly the same as what you have if you mail them the cracked one. You can then choose the material and finish you like.
You can also make the drawing with the free program you can download at http://www.frontpanelexpress.com and have it machined from anodized aluminum. DO NOT order a black one. Black anodized aluminum tends to turn purple in the sun.
All this is only valid if you have a flat helm panel and not one of these curved in all directions one....
Take a picture and send it to them for quote, I haven't dealt with them but do plan on getting a quote from them for some issues with my boats dash/steering wheel
I recently restored my dash - not sure if it would work for your application as well. My dash components were made of plastic so I epoxy'd the cracks, sanded it, then wrapped it - see the link to the thread at the bottom.....
