Mechanical Speedometer Adjustment

I have a Faria mechanical speedometer in my boat that consistently reads about 3 mph too high compared to my GPS. I can live with this but was wondering if there was any way to adjust either the needle or bourdon tube position relative to the housing such that the gauge would be accurate? I know that some pressure gauges that utilize a bourdon have a screw that can be adjusted to "zero" the gauge if it is reading low or high.

Re: Mechanical Speedometer Adjustment

if it is 3mph across the board, pull the housing, take apart the gauge, pull the needle and move it by 3 degrees.

mechanical pitot tube speedo gauges are merely a suggestion and almost never accurate. if your only off by 3 mph, consider yourself lucky. my speedometer is high at 45 by almost 10mph

however you can contact Faria directly Manuals and Documents
