HELP!! I have a transom mount transducer (Airmar P58) and I want to fit it onto my sailing yacht. The transom does not fall below the waterline and so I am forced to look at other options. Where could I mount it? I have a great guy who can fabricate something out of marine ply and fibreglass. Would some sort of fibreglass box/holder work? If I wanted it to face a little forward, could I mount it in front of the keel?? Any help gratefully received!

You can mount it anywhere you can make it fit the bottom of the boat, but most would be using a through-hull or shoot-through-the-hull transducer, instead of the transom mounted type.

^^^ What he said. Mid ship thru hull (they make them that shoot thru the hull so no holes are required). Get the best you can afford. Sailboat keels are expensive.

I would for sure go thru-hull.
