Hi everyone! I have been the new owner of a 86 10' Livingston for about 2 weeks now. My questions is, are there any modifications to enhance the Livingston speed performance? I am using a well maintained and running 8 hp short shaft evinrude and have no engine concerns. However I can not get the boat to plane with even just me in it? What's the scoop on these little cats? Pics a plus:D

We need to see the set up, entire boat, then some shots from the back.

The shorter ones don't plane well and they need larger motors to develop much speed. The hull design doesn't easily permit the use of trim tabs, but they would help a great deal.

9.9's and larger motors should get a 10' Livingston on plane, but it's close with a 9.9.

To help get on plane you may need a tiller extension so you can get forward further, adding weight up front helps, but Cats are very sensitive to weight and you need to keep the boat as light as possible.
