speedometer wheel location

was relocating the wheel bracket on the transom and could not remember if the wheel was totally under the hull or if it was only half ways? was thinking of the centerline of the wheel even with the bottom of the boat.

Or even a little higher, only the paddles need to touch the water, if totally submerged it will not work. The wheel is turned by the water coming off the transom so anywhere the transom will ride in the water when planning will work. Makes no difference whether center or off to the side as long as it remains in contact with the water coming off.

The paddles need to extend below the bottom of the boat or no go. Mine is roughly 4-5" below the water line when in use (trolling speeds only)

Ayuh,.... Agreed,... It's gotta be where the boat bottom, meets the transom,...
