I just got my swim platform from ebay, I am mounting it tomorow, I wanted to find out what others are using inside the transom. The platform has two brackets with six 3/8" holes on each, I want to use thu bolts, this will be going on my 2006 glastron mx175. My question is, should I use washers or should I use six pairs of backer plates on the inside of the transom?

Depends on the transom. Brackets are always good but fender washers might be enough.

Use aluminum backing plates. When you drill the holes, you should drill them a little oversize and epoxy the hole completely. After it sets up go back and drill the right size holes. This way there will not be any wood exposed if water gets in.Seal with 5200 or 4200
