Where to mount a chart plotter on a Glastron MX185

I intend to buy either a Garmin 441 or Lowrance Elite 5 chart plotter / sounder for my MX185.

There isn't a lot of room to mount it over the dash and some have suggested mounting it outside of the windshield towards the bow.

Anyone with a chart plotter on an MX185? Where did you mount yours?

I second the Ram mount idea.. If theres a way, ram makes a mount.

Thanks for the feedback on the Ram mount. I have a local dealer who does sell that.

Boat's in storage (ice still a bit too think here in Ontario for boating) but for those who wanted pictures here are the dash shots from the marketing booklet.

I would buy whichever one fits on the right side of the helm. You can flush mount it or buy a mount. I flush mounted mine. Only issue is cutting a hole. If you do flush mount and say in 5 years it gets stolen or breaks you will have to find something that will fit in the existing hole or create a plate to go over the hole to mount the new one.

I'd say put a ram mount in the drink holder on the right side.
Won't really mess anything up if your decide to remove it.

Or he could do a Ram mount on the right part of the dash above the cup holder. Either way would work really well.

Lowrance Elite on a Ram Ballmount it is mounted to the right of the helm.
